A cloud of sorrow has descended upon us with the passing of Alfred Scott Anthony. Born on March 26, 1938, in Cisne, Illinois, Scott lived a full and vibrant life before departing on August 5, 2023. He was a cherished son to Thomas Troy and Neva Robinson Anthony, growing up amidst the bustling backdrop of a large family, with five sisters and four brothers.

From a tender age, Scott’s life was characterized by hard work. Alongside his father, he contributed to the family income by working in the oil fields, which often meant relocating. Life later took him to Lander, Wyoming, where he not only pursued education at Lander Valley High School but also found the love of his life, Nathelle Glick. Their bond spanned over six decades, having celebrated their 64th anniversary just two years prior.

Scott’s passions were diverse and heartwarming. From dancing and singing to his talent with multiple musical instruments, his zest for life was evident. Whether he was painting ceramics with Nathelle, crafting wooden projects, or amusing visitors with their collection of whimsical toys, Scott’s vivacity was infectious. His culinary skills were commendable, and his house was an emblem of festivity, reflecting his dedication to Nathelle.

Career-wise, Scott wore many hats. From the oil fields of his youth to managerial roles at Safeway and then to entrepreneurship with gas stations, Scott’s versatility was a testament to his dedication and adaptability.

Behind his humor and wit was a compassionate man who opened his heart and home to those in need. His generosity knew no bounds, often extending a helping hand to the less fortunate.

Surviving him are his children, Tammy and Steven; his nephew Mike, who he regarded as a son; a sister, Martha; and a line of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The legacy of his love is also preserved in the memories of his numerous nieces, nephews, and their descendants.

His parents, beloved daughter Rebecca, wife Nathelle, and a host of siblings have predeceased him.

In honor of this incredible soul, a Celebration of Life will be convened on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Price Chapel, Price, Utah. Join us as we reminisce and pay homage to a life well-lived.
