While we grieve this loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful legacy he leaves behind.

Donald Alvin Bailey was born to Blanche and Frederick Bailey and grew up alongside his loving sisters, Verne Richardson and Bernice. Through the years, he formed deep bonds with his brothers-in-law, Bill Richardson and Bob Crow. Although we mourn their absence, let us find solace in the cherished memories they created together.

Throughout his life, Donald found great joy in the companionship of his beloved wife, Judy Bailey (Kresl). Together, they built a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering devotion. Their journey was blessed with the presence of their children: Tom Bailey, Diane Kell, Brent Bailey, and Scott Bailey. This family, bound by an unbreakable bond, shares an immeasurable loss in their patriarch’s departure.

A source of immense pride and joy, Donald was the adoring grandfather of Cory Campbell, Ben Campbell, Colleen Bailey-Knapke, and Danny Bailey. Each grandchild holds treasured memories of their times together, and the impact Donald had on their lives will forever be felt. Welcoming the next generation into the world of family love, he relished his role as a great grandfather to Peter Joseph (PJ), Margaret (Maggie), and Robert Bailey-Knapke (Baby Bobby). Their presence brought him immeasurable happiness, and his spirit will continue to watch over them.

To those who knew him, Donald Bailey was a truly remarkable individual. His warm heart, compassionate spirit, and unwavering faith touched the lives of countless individuals. As we gather to honor his memory, we invite you to join us in paying respects during the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Following the visitation, we will hold a mass at the same location from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Together, let us find solace and strength in our shared memories of this extraordinary soul.

In honoring Donald’s wishes and his compassionate nature, we kindly request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name. These donations will support two organizations close to his heart: the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Your generosity will ensure that Donald’s legacy of kindness and benevolence continues to touch the lives of those in need.
