Geraldine Florence Baker, 89, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Harrison House of Coatesville. She was a devoted wife to the late John H. Baker, sharing 53 beautiful years of companionship in Coatesville. Born in Philadelphia, she was cherished as the daughter of the late John H. and Ruth Reel Barben.
Geraldine’s educational journey led her to Germantown and Philadelphia, where she blossomed into a remarkable individual. She found fulfillment working at Remington Rand in Philadelphia before embracing her role as a teacher’s aide at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Caln. Her passion for civic duty led her to become an election officer in Caln Township—a true testament to her dedication to serving others. Alongside her commendable pursuits, Geraldine found solace in the loving community of Hope Fellowship in West End, Coatesville.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, James Baker and his wife Sylvia of Sadsburyville, and Margaret Adams and her husband Chuck of Elkton, MD. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her seven grandchildren. We hold dear the memories of her dear brother, John H. Barben Jr., and her daughter, Amanda Baker, who have traversed beyond this earthly realm.
Funeral services, a time of solace and reflection, will be held privately, honoring the intimacy that Geraldine cherished in life. Our beloved Geraldine will be entrusted to the compassionate care of the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. In these moments of bereavement, we warmly welcome your condolences and messages of comfort, which can be shared at the online tribute page, where memories intertwine and hearts find solace. May we find strength in each other as we navigate the seasons of remembrance.
