Harold M. Wilson, an extraordinary gentleman who touched the lives of many, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, October 9, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 87 years old. Born in Chester County, Harold was the cherished son of the late Harry F. Wilson Sr. and Martha (Stanley) Wilson. He embarked on a remarkable journey filled with love and companionship, sharing 63 beautiful years of marital bliss with his beloved wife, Barbara Y. (Taylor) Wilson.

Harold bravely served in the United States Navy aboard the esteemed US Naval Carrier Forrestal. Throughout his earlier years, his passion for motorcycles led him to become a proud member of the local “Piston Poppers” motorcycle club. Adventurous and deeply connected to nature, Harold enjoyed the thrill of hunting and fishing in Saxton, Pennsylvania. After relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1984, Harold and Barbara soaked in the breathtaking scenery for 15 remarkable years. He found solace and contentment in fishing, spending countless hours sailing across Tampa Bay and Edmont Keys. In 1997, after dedicating his time to the Pinellas County School District, Harold returned to his beloved Coatesville, marking the beginning of his well-deserved retirement. Eventually, he found fulfillment once more through employment with Bulldog Construction Company in Westwood, Pennsylvania.

Harold’s memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife, Barbara, as well as his two daughters, Deborah L. (Wilson) Murr, wife of the esteemed Dr. George A. Murr, III, of Bakersfield, CA, and Tonya J. (Wilson) Swartz, wife of the compassionate Richard A. Swartz, of Largo, FL. Nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also hold a special place in their hearts for this remarkable man. Harold’s absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He now joins his four siblings who preceded him in death, finding eternal peace among them.

In accordance with his wishes, funeral services will remain private and exclusive to his cherished family. During this time of loss, instead of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations in Harold’s name be made to the charity closest to your heart.
