Amidst the fleeting nature of life, we find ourselves confronted with the heartbreaking truth that even the most cherished souls must one day depart. With an ache in our hearts, we mourn the loss of Helen A. Lander, a beacon of strength, wisdom, and warmth from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Helen enriched the lives of those around her for 88 meaningful years, leaving an indelible imprint on everyone she touched.

Her journey on Earth began as the cherished daughter of Mary and Charles Hartman. Throughout her life, she formed bonds that lasted a lifetime, only to be predeceased by her parents; beloved husband, James (Jim); daughter, Diane; and siblings Christine, Lucille, and Bruce. Yet in life’s intricate web, while some threads end, others continue. Helen’s legacy is vibrantly alive through her sister Marilyn Mohl and husband Anthony, sister-in-law Joyce Hartman, devoted nieces Cynthia, Barbara, Carolyn, and Susan, as well as her nephew, Stephen Lander.

The echo of her laughter, her words of wisdom, and her unconditional love continue to resonate through her 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored immeasurably.

As we gather to celebrate Helen’s remarkable life and legacy, we invite friends and family to join us for a visitation on Friday, September 15th, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, located at 320 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201. This will be followed by a solemn mass from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same venue. As we bid farewell to Helen, let us cherish the memories, lessons, and love she gifted us throughout her life.
