James Irving Johnson, a cherished pillar of the Bellefontaine community, passed away on September 15, 2023, marking the end of a life lived with immense warmth, integrity, and commitment. Born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, James carried the values of hard work, dedication, and love throughout his 78 years.
The son of Howard and Hazel Johnson (Isaacson), James grew up in an environment that valued family above all. Despite facing the painful loss of his brother, Algernon Johnson, earlier in life, James continued to hold on to the bonds of family with tenacity and affection.
James’s life was filled with many roles, but perhaps the most dear to him was that of a loving husband. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Nora Esther Johnson (Duke), and their bond was a testament to the timeless nature of love. Their companionship was further enriched by their adored pet, Winston, who added joy and vibrancy to their home.
As we come together to remember and celebrate James’s life, his impact on those around him remains evident. His memory lives on in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the love he infused in every relationship.
A visitation to honor James’s life and legacy is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th, 2023, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 321 N Main St, Bellefontaine, OH 43311. From 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, family and friends are invited to gather, reminisce, and support each other during this time of grief.
James’s legacy is a powerful reminder of the beauty in everyday moments, the importance of family, and the lasting impact one life can have on many. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
