In the depths of sorrow, we sadly announce the passing of John Allen Leonard (Denver, Colorado), who departed from us on September 28, 2023 at the age of 63. During this difficult time, we humbly invite family and friends to join us on this memorial page to offer their condolences and share their cherished memories with the grieving family.
John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joan F. Leonard and Donald E. Leonard. He leaves behind a devoted brother, Jim Leonard (Amy); a loving wife, Gaye (Peterson); and his precious sons, Bryce (Lindsey), Jim (Betsy), and Will. John also leaves behind his dear brother, Bill (Chris); adored grandchildren, Charlie, Olivia, Theodore, Remi, and Henry; beloved nieces and nephews, Katie, Laura (Danny), Grace, John, and McRae; his father-in-law, Jim Peterson; and his caring brothers-in-law, Ron and Craig (Mavic).
To honor John’s life, a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 27th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Episcopal Church (600 Gilpin St, Denver, CO 80218). As we gather to honor his memory, let us find solace in the warmth of shared memories and the embrace of loved ones.
In recognition of John’s deep love for nature, the family kindly requests that, instead of flowers, donations be made to his fund at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It is here that his spirit will forever bloom, reminiscent of the wildflowers that brought him immense joy on his worldly adventures. Let us keep his memory alive through the beauty of nature.
