With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of John H. Manning, beloved resident of Middletown, New York. John was born in the beautiful town of Newburgh, New York. John H. Manning was preceded in death by his loving parents, Martin Manning and Harriet Baxter Manning. He was also deeply saddened by the loss of his beloved wife, Shirley Manning. Cherishing memories of his presence, John is survived by his devoted children: Joanne Stevens of Walden, Diane Goerl (Dan) of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Michael Manning (Kathy) of Caroga Lake, NY. Additionally, he leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jeremy Manning, Eric Manning, Brian Stevens, and Stephanie Smith; as well as his adored great-grandchildren: Beckett, Declan, Kinsley, Wynne, and Oskar. John’s love and kindness also extended to his nieces and nephews, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

In remembrance of John’s life, visitation will be held on Friday, October 13th, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home (39 Orchard St, Walden, NY 12586). Following the visitation, a solemn funeral service will commence at 12:00 PM at the same peaceful location. Finally, a respectful burial service will be held from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Wallkill Valley Cemetery, offering a serene space for final goodbyes.

To honor John’s legacy and pay tribute to his departed soul, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Church of the Most Precious Blood in Walden, NY. As we bid farewell to our dear John, let us find solace in the beauty of his life, sharing fond memories and offering words of comfort to his grieving family. May his soul find eternal rest and may his memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
