The community of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and all who had the privilege of knowing John R. Jennings Sr., are grappling with profound sadness. His passing on September 8, 2023, has cast a shadow of grief, particularly because of the profound impact he made throughout his 78 years of life. Those who knew John admired his resilience, wisdom, and the warmth he extended to everyone he met.
John’s absence will be acutely felt by his loving family. The bond he shared with his late wife, Sandra “Sandy”, and his son, John Robert Jennings Jr. “Robbie”, was unbreakable. Their memories, full of joy, laughter, and lessons, will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew them. John’s brother, Edward Jennings, will undoubtedly miss the camaraderie and brotherly love they shared.
Additionally, John’s nieces – Rachel Salazar, Heather Wilson, and Kimberly Jennings – and his nephew, Kevin Jennings, were fortunate to experience his guiding light, playful teasing, and the genuine love of an uncle. Their recollections of their cherished moments with him will serve as a source of solace in these trying times.
As we come to terms with this immense loss, we invite all who shared moments, big or small, with John, to join us in remembering him. A visitation session has been arranged on Monday, September 18th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, located at 1457 Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. This gathering will be an opportunity to share stories, offer support, and collectively honor the remarkable life of John R. Jennings Sr.
