Malcolm “Max” R. Folsom

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Malcolm R. Folsom (Greenville, Maine) on September 19, 2023. As we gather here to honor his memory, let us offer our deepest sympathies and support to his family during this difficult time.

We remember Malcolm fondly, cherishing the countless memories he blessed us with throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Richard B. Folsom and Laura M. Folsom (Given), as well as his dear sister Ellen Lakeman. While we mourn his loss, we find comfort in knowing that Malcolm is now reunited with his loved ones in eternal peace.

Malcolm leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished moments. He is survived by his adoring wife, Judy Folsom (Ryder), who stood by his side through thick and thin. His daughter Sarah Yates (David) was a constant source of pride and joy, as were his grandchildren, Arthur and Mabel. His daughter Kimberly Folsom (Chris Leclerc) and grandson Christian held a special place in his heart. Malcolm’s son Richard Folsom (Valaree) brought him immeasurable happiness, alongside granddaughters Chloe and Adelia. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Rodney Folsom (Vanessa), James Folsom (Diane), Roscoe Schroeder, Linda McEachern (Hugh), Ann Hansen (Fred), and Helen Smeaton, as well as his brother-in-law Willis “Mickey” Lakeman Jr..

Let us lean on one another for support during this time of loss, drawing strength from the love Malcolm shared with each one of us.

In honoring Malcolm’s memory, donations can be made in his name to The Moosehead Historical Society and Museums, P.O. Box 1116, Greenville, ME 04441. This gesture will help preserve his passion for history and ensure that future generations can benefit from his legacy.

    We are so thankful that we finally met you both a year ago when we were with Sue at the hospital. Your hug meant a lot and I only wish I could be there to give you one. Bob and Sue talked about you so much and how good you were to them and what GREAT friends you have been .
    We are so VERY sad about Max’s passing and want you to know we are thinking of you and your family with deepest sympathy and much love.
