In the gentle embrace of heartfelt memories, we remember Myra Lynnette Essaf, a soul who touched our lives in the most profound way. At the age of 62, she peacefully departed this world, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family on that tender Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Myra’s journey began in Jennersville, a place where her roots grew deep, as the cherished daughter of the late Thomas L. Shelton and Hazel M. (Carpenter) Shelton. She was destined to be the beloved companion of the late Stephen C. Essaf, a union that graced them with 17 years of shared love and devotion.
In the halls of Octorara High School, Myra’s youthful spirit found its wings, and there, she embarked on the beautiful path of life.
The tapestry of her life is woven with the threads of family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through the ages. Three daughters, Christina Stoltzfus and her loving husband Michael of Bucks, PA, Jennifer Essaf, and Roy Keagy of Conestoga, and Tasha Essaf and Mike Swinehart of Cochranville, stand as testament to the love she nurtured. Additionally, nine grandchildren are the blossoms of her life’s garden, a testament to her enduring love and care.
Grief has visited this family before, claiming her daughter Melissa L. Essaf in 2020, her brother James Shelton in the same year, and one precious grandson, Thomas Hollinger, back in 1999. In the garden of her memory, these dear souls remain forever in bloom.
On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 11 AM, we will gather at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, Pennsylvania 19365, to honor and remember Myra’s life. Friends and family are invited to join in a visitation period beginning at 10 AM, a time to share stories, tears, and embraces. After the service, we will lovingly accompany Myra to her peaceful resting place at Glen Run Cemetery in Atglen, Pennsylvania, where her spirit will find everlasting tranquility.
Myra was not merely a presence in our lives; she embodied unwavering strength and served as an inspiration to each of us.
