In the quaint town of West Grove, PA, the gentle ebbing of time brought with it the quiet departure of a beloved soul, Mrs. Sharon Ann Dunfee, aged 67. Her peaceful transition from this world occurred at her residence on the calm morning of August 31, 2023. Sharon, a beacon of love and commitment, had dedicated 42 cherished years of her life to her late husband, David S. Dunfee, who had predeceased her in 2021.

Sharon’s journey began in Wilmington, Delaware, as the cherished daughter of Aaron Enoch Sexton and Ruby Geraldine Phipps Sexton. The streets of Wilmington witnessed her formative years, which culminated in her graduation from A.I. DuPont High School in 1974. West Grove, her home for an impressive 45 years, observed her diligent service of 16 years at North Creek Nurseries in Landenberg, PA.

Together with her husband, David, Sharon was instrumental in shaping the spiritual foundations of the Highland Baptist Church in Parkesburg, PA, being one of its esteemed charter members.

As the chapters of her life unfold, her memory is cherished and kept alive by her two devoted children: Dawn Oatman, partnered with Jeremy from Christiana, PA, and Matthew Dunfee of West Grove, PA. Her legacy further blossoms with the joy of eight grandchildren. She is also remembered by her brother, Steve Sexton, and his wife, Pam, who reside in Brentwood, TN.

To pay homage to Sharon’s cherished life, a funeral service has been scheduled for Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Highland Baptist Church, located at 1 E. Highland Road, Parkesburg, Pennsylvania 19365. Before the service, from 10:00 AM, the church will graciously host a viewing, allowing family and friends to gather, reminisce, and offer their condolences.

In a final act of privacy and reflection, Sharon will be laid to rest at the Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, Delaware. The mantle of overseeing these arrangements with grace and reverence has been taken up by the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA. As we remember Sharon, let our hearts find solace in the love and warmth she spread throughout her journey on earth.
