With heavy hearts, we share the news of Sheldon Perkins’ passing. Born in Hamilton, Texas, Sheldon, a beloved resident of Evant, Texas, journeyed to his heavenly abode on October 2, 2023. At the age of 88, he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, while family and friends grieve his loss. Sheldon Perkins was preceded in death by his adoring parents, James Issac Perkins and Edna Sheldon, as well as his loving wife, Belva Jean Gilchrest. He also joined his dear sister, Evie Scott, and sister-in-law, Cindy Perkins, in eternal peace.
Left to cherish his memory are Sheldon’s devoted sons, Keith Perkins of Houston, Kirk Perkins of Lampasas, and Lynn Perkins (LaDale) of Lampasas. Alongside them stand his step-daughters, Gay McCarty of Gatesville and Beverly Marwitz (Scott) of Evant. Sheldon’s cherished brother, Eldon Perkins, also shares in the sorrow of his passing. Furthermore, his legacy lives on through his beloved son, Dylan, as well as his dear grandchildren: Ace, Scarlett, Gage, and Eliana Perkins. Sheldon’s great grandchildren, Zaden and Landon, continue to be blessed by his presence. Additionally, his grandchildren Colton and Kallen Perkins, along with his great-grandchild Rhett, hold cherished memories of their time together. Sheldon’s grandchildren, Tyler and Jenna Perkins, are also part of his extended clan, with his great-grandchild Presley bringing joy and love into their lives. In total, Sheldon Perkins will be remembered and missed by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who have been touched by his warmth and kindness.
