It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Teresa L. Wertz, a cherished member of our community, on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Teresa, 60 years old, peacefully transitioned at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.
Born in West Grove, PA, Teresa was an individual who embodied the very essence of home. She spent her entire life as a resident of this beautiful area, holding a special place in everyone’s hearts. Teresa’s school days were spent at Pequea Valley High School, where she made lasting friendships and created countless memories.
Teresa dedicated herself to her profession, working diligently in the housekeeping department at the Revere Best Western Motel in Paradise, PA. Her caring nature and attention to detail made her invaluable to her colleagues and guests alike. Her dedication to her work was truly commendable.
Surrounded by her legacy are her four children, Matthew J. Wertz and his wife Crystal of Sellersville, PA, Jennifer L. Wertz of Leola, PA, Gary L. Flaud of Exton, PA, and Monica N. Cummings of Ronks, PA. Teresa was an adoring grandmother to 14 grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She shared a lifelong bond with her siblings: Karen Stoltzfus and her husband D. David of Ephrata, PA, Thomas Wertz, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Narvon, PA, Sharon Wertz of Intercourse, PA, and Gail Yonce of Manheim. Teresa was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Bulick.
In honor of Teresa’s life, a solemn funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, located at 434 Main St. in Parkesburg, PA. Following the service, Teresa will be laid to rest at the Glen Run Baptist Cemetery in Atglen, PA. The family and friends who wish to show their love and pay their respects are also invited to the viewing at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until the start of the service.
