Tommy Skarlis Obituary – Thomas G. Skarlis, 55, of Denver, passed on at his home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, from glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). He was conceived on July 22, 1965, in Waterloo, to J. “George” and Shirley M. (Pannhoff) Skarlis and moved on from Waterloo Central High School in 1983. Thomas wedded Michelle Ann Welsh on October 23, 1999, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Waterloo.

He has been a serious angler following his fantasy since 1994; a cultivated Angler on the Walleye Circuit and Crappie Masters Circuit and known as one of the most adaptable fishers out there. Thomas was accepted into the 2020 National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. He served on the leading body of National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA); his part number was #11.

He was an individual from St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Fishing, chasing, and the outside were his LIFE. Yet, the adoration for his family was his most prominent achievement. “Tommy” as his individual anglers called him was a narrator, prankster, alluring, vivid character with a more prominent than-life character. In any case, his most noticeable quality was his confidence, and that has earned him his best in class title.
